Winnoland has officially celebrated the inauguration of the Wild West Coaster, marking a major milestone in the transformation of the French family amusement park. Although the attraction has already welcomed visitors for some time, the park recently held its official opening ceremony, describing the project as the most significant investment undertaken since Winnoland was rebranded in 2023.
The ceremony took place on 3 July and brought together invited guests, partners, suppliers and everyone involved in bringing the ambitious project to life. In a message shared afterwards, the park reflected on more than two years of work, thanking employees, contractors and supporters who helped turn the vision into reality.
A New Landmark for the Park
The Wild West Coaster is much more than just another family roller coaster. Designed as a fully themed mine train adventure, the attraction immerses guests in the fictional western town of Bunnytown, where they board mining carts and journey through a richly detailed Wild West landscape. Extensive rockwork, themed buildings and story elements transform the ride into one of the most immersive experiences Winnoland has ever created.
The attraction is a Vekoma family coaster featuring a booster-wheel lift, reaching a top speed of around 46 km/h over a 254-metre layout. While aimed at families, it represents a considerable step forward in scale and theming for the park.
Years in the Making
Development of the project dates back more than two years. The coaster was originally expected to debut during the 2025 season but experienced delays before eventually opening to visitors. Since then, additional theming and finishing work has continued, culminating in this month’s official inauguration ceremony.
According to the park, the Wild West Coaster represents its largest project since the Winnoland brand was introduced in 2023, signalling the company’s ambition to continue investing in the visitor experience.
Continuing a Transformation
Although Winnoland traces its roots back to 2008 under its former identity, the park has undergone significant changes in recent years. The rebranding to Winnoland marked the beginning of a new era focused on stronger theming, expanded attractions and a clearer family identity.
The Wild West Coaster perfectly embodies that strategy. Rather than simply adding another ride, the park has created an entirely themed environment designed to immerse guests in its own original story.
During the inauguration, Winnoland described the coaster as another chapter in its history and reaffirmed its ambition to continue creating memorable experiences for visitors of all ages.
The park concluded its announcement with a message that may also hint at its future plans: “The adventure is only just beginning.”
