Thousands of kilometres from Belgium, the ambitious new theme park is building an entire district inspired by the historic Flemish city. Complete with colourful stepped façades, narrow streets and chocolate-themed experiences, the area is designed to transport guests to the heart of Bruges, before taking them on a roller coaster adventure that literally begins beneath its streets.
Why Bruges?
The choice of Bruges is no coincidence.
Internationally renowned for its beautifully preserved medieval centre and world-famous chocolate, the Belgian city perfectly matches the identity of Cacau Park, which is being developed by Brazilian chocolate manufacturer Cacau Show.
The Bruges-inspired land, celebrates Belgian chocolate culture while also reflecting the premium image of Cacau Show’s brands. Rather than creating a generic European street, the designers have chosen one of Belgium’s most iconic cities as the inspiration for an entire themed environment.
A Belgian City Built from Scratch
Construction updates released throughout 2026 show the Bruges district rapidly taking shape.
Rows of colourful Flemish-style buildings are rising across the site, complete with decorative stepped gables, brick façades and charming streets that closely resemble the architecture found in Belgium. As more buildings are completed, the area is beginning to look less like a construction site and more like a compact medieval town.
These buildings are far more than decorative scenery. They will house restaurants, shops, attractions and guest facilities, allowing visitors to spend time exploring the streets much as they would in a real European city.
Although the architecture is inspired by Bruges rather than being an exact replica of specific streets, the influence of the Belgian city is unmistakable.
A Roller Coaster That Begins in the Catacombs
The most surprising feature of the Bruges-inspired land lies beneath its streets.
Hidden below the medieval village, guests will descend into catacombs, where they will board a family roller coaster. Instead of hiding the attraction behind scenery, the designers have integrated it into the heart of the land. Visitors walking through the streets will regularly see the coaster rushing past, while riders enjoy views of the colourful Flemish architecture surrounding them.
The transition from an underground beginning to an outdoor ride gives the coaster an unique identity and makes it one of the most distinctive family roller coasters currently under construction.
