Universal Epic Universe - The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) has announced the winners of the 2026 Thea Awards, highlighting notable achievements in themed entertainment globally. Universal Epic Universe was recognized in the Theme Park category, with its attractions and themed areas receiving significant acknowledgment.
Universal Epic Universe Celebrated
Universal Epic Universe was awarded for outstanding Theme Park. The park’s How to Train Your Dragon-Isle of Berk was specifically recognized as an outstanding theme park land. Additionally, the attractions Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment in Dark Universe and Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic were acknowledged for their quality.
Dale Mason, the Vice President & Executive Art Director of Universal Destinations & Experiences, received the Buzz Price Thea Award for Lifetime Achievement, recognizing his contributions to the industry.
Disney and Other Recognized Achievements
Disney was recognized in the Themed Food & Beverage category for the Haunted Mansion Parlor, featured on the Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny.
Other winners included The John Wick Experience in Las Vegas, the Bob Marley Hope Road in Los Angeles and Dallas, and the touring Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue.
International Recognition and New Awards
International projects received accolades, with attractions at Efteling park in the Netherlands and the Hobbiton Movie Set Tours in New Zealand being recognized for their contributions to themed entertainment.
The inaugural TEA Recognition of Merit was awarded to four projects, including the Pac-Man Live Experience in England.
The 2026 Thea Awards Gala is scheduled to take place at the JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes, from April 29 to May 2, 2026.
