Tokyo Disney Resort has officially launched its Summer Cool-Off event for 2026, bringing a wide range of limited-time entertainment, attraction overlays and exclusive experiences to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.
Running through 14 September, this year’s event combines returning guest favourites with new entertainment and a resort-wide celebration of Disney and Pixar’s upcoming film Toy Story 5.
Toy Story 5 Takes Over Both Parks
One of the biggest additions for 2026 is Fun Time with Toy Story 5, a special celebration taking place across both theme parks ahead of the film’s release.
Guests can enjoy themed decorations, exclusive merchandise, limited-time food and beverage offerings, and special entertainment inspired by the latest adventure featuring Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of Andy’s toys.
The collaboration is one of the headline experiences of Tokyo Disney Resort’s summer season and runs alongside the Summer Cool-Off festivities.
Baymax Returns to Beat the Heat
At Tokyo Disneyland, Baymax’s Mission: Cool Down once again takes over the parade route.
The healthcare companion from Big Hero 6 travels through the park, spraying guests with refreshing water during a lively performance featuring an all-new collaboration song by popular Japanese band Mrs. GREEN APPLE.
The limited-time soundtrack can also be heard on The Happy Ride with Baymax, giving the attraction a unique summer atmosphere.
Water-Filled Attractions Across the Resort
Several attractions have also received seasonal “Get Soaked” overlays.
Splash Mountain returns as Splash Mountain “Get Soaked MAX Plus,” promising even bigger splashes than usual, while Gadget’s Go Coaster once again features additional water effects.
At Tokyo DisneySea, guests can cool off on Aquatopia’s “Get Soaked” Version, while Mediterranean Harbor hosts the returning “Get Soaked” Harbor Splash, where powerful fountains drench visitors throughout the day.
This year’s event is particularly significant for Aquatopia, as the attraction is scheduled to close permanently after 14 September 2026.
Exclusive Merchandise and Seasonal Food
The resort has introduced a wide selection of exclusive merchandise inspired by both Summer Cool-Off and the Toy Story 5 collaboration.
Guests can also enjoy limited-time snacks, desserts and refreshing drinks available throughout both parks during the event.
Special Finale for Reach for the Stars
Summer evenings conclude with Reach for the Stars: Everlasting Dreams at Tokyo Disneyland.
The nighttime spectacular has been enhanced with an extended finale featuring a drone display created especially for the summer event. The show will conclude its run after 14 September 2026, making this the final opportunity for guests to experience the special version of the production.
With new entertainment, returning water attractions, exclusive seasonal offerings and a major Toy Story 5 celebration, Tokyo Disney Resort is once again offering guests plenty of reasons to visit during Japan’s hottest months.
