Disneyland Paris has begun assembling test elements for its upcoming Lion King-themed water attraction. The structure, currently under construction backstage, includes what appears to be the ride’s tallest point, now visible from within the park.
First Sections Installed Behind the Scenes
Photos taken from inside the park by DLP Report show a newly erected steel frame. This structure likely represents the highest section of the future attraction. While the final height has not been confirmed, the installation indicates visible progress on-site.
Part of New Lion King-Themed Land
The attraction will be the main feature of a newly announced Lion King-themed land, confirmed as part of the transformation of Walt Disney Studios Park into Disney Adventure World. The new land will be situated between World of Frozen and Adventure Bay.
Flume Ride to Feature Iconic Set Piece
The attraction will be a flume-style water ride built beneath a 121-foot (37-meter) replica of Pride Rock. It will include multiple drops and themed show scenes based on The Lion King film. One of the confirmed drops will measure 52 feet (16 meters).
Construction Timeline and Next Steps
The current test installation is part of pre-construction preparations. Full groundworks for the new land are scheduled to begin in late 2025. The opening is anticipated later in the decade, following the debut of World of Frozen in 2026.
