California - Legoland has released concept art for new space-themed family roller coasters scheduled to open in 2026 at both Legoland Florida and Legoland California. The projects are part of a US$94 million investment in the two parks by parent company Merlin Entertainments.
Upcoming Attractions at Legoland Spaceport 885 and 886
The coasters will be located at Legoland Spaceport 885 in Florida and Legoland Spaceport 886 in California. Official names have not yet been announced. Both coasters are designed as family-friendly rides and will serve as central features of new expansions in their respective parks.
Park-Specific Additions and Locations
In Legoland Florida, the roller coaster will be accompanied by a Duplo-themed toddler play area and a space-themed retail shop. The development will take place in the northernmost corner of Lego City, replacing the former Flying School coaster.
At Legoland California, the coaster will anchor a new space-themed area that includes the Junior Astronaut Training Zone, a retail and dining venue called Galactic Grub and Gear, and two additional flat rides. The new land will occupy the former site of the Driving School rides in Fun Town, across from the current Driving School attractions.
Opening Timeline and Development Team
Both new areas are scheduled to open in 2026. The projects are being developed by Merlin Magic Making, the internal creative division of Merlin Entertainments. Released concept images show space-themed environments integrated with Lego branding elements.
