Six Flags Fiesta Texas Opens New Tex-Mex Restaurant La Cocina de Cobre

Six Flags Fiesta Texas has officially opened La Cocina de Cobre, the park’s newest restaurant and one of its biggest food investments in recent years.

The new dining location recently celebrated its grand opening with a festive ceremony featuring live mariachi performances, welcoming guests to experience a fresh Tex-Mex menu in the heart of the park.

The opening marks another step in Six Flags Fiesta Texas’ ongoing efforts to enhance its food and beverage offerings alongside its expanding entertainment lineup.

Replacing a Longstanding Restaurant

La Cocina de Cobre is located in the Crackaxle Canyon Steampunk District, taking over the location previously occupied by Bubba’s Burgers.

Rather than simply changing the menu, the restaurant has been completely reimagined to better fit the themed environment of Crackaxle Canyon while showcasing flavours inspired by San Antonio’s rich Mexican and Tex-Mex culinary traditions.

The new venue features themed décor that blends industrial steampunk elements with traditional Mexican influences, creating a dining experience that complements the surrounding area.

A New Tex-Mex Menu

Guests can choose from a variety of classic Tex-Mex dishes, including birria tacos, chicken flautas, chimichangas and cheese quesadillas.

The restaurant has been designed as a family-friendly dining location offering freshly prepared meals instead of the traditional burgers and fries commonly found at amusement parks.

The investment reflects a broader strategy by Six Flags Fiesta Texas to improve the quality and variety of its food offerings, an area where the park has received increasing recognition in recent years.

Part of a Larger Summer Expansion

The opening of La Cocina de Cobre comes during a busy summer season for Six Flags Fiesta Texas.

The park recently introduced FiestaLuz, a new nighttime drone spectacular featuring more than 175 drones, while also extending operating hours throughout the summer. Together with the new restaurant, these additions are intended to encourage guests to spend more time inside the park and enjoy a full-day experience that extends into the evening.

The improvements also continue to build momentum ahead of the park’s 35th anniversary celebrations in 2027.

Continuing to Raise the Standard

Six Flags Fiesta Texas has earned a reputation as one of the most innovative parks in the Six Flags chain, regularly investing not only in new attractions but also in entertainment, seasonal events and dining experiences.

The opening of La Cocina de Cobre demonstrates that the park’s ambitions extend beyond roller coasters alone. By introducing higher-quality food options that reflect the culture and flavours of San Antonio, the park is continuing its transformation into a destination where dining is becoming as much a part of the experience as the rides themselves.
