Six Flags CEO Richard Zimmerman to Depart Amid Company Transition

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation - Richard Zimmerman, the president and CEO of Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, will step down from his leadership role as the company searches for his successor.

This transition is expected to conclude by the end of 2025. Zimmerman will continue to serve on the company’s Board of Directors during this period.

Leadership Transition and Company Integration

Before joining Six Flags, Zimmerman was the president and CEO of Cedar Fair Entertainment Company. The merger between Cedar Fair and Six Flags was completed in 2024. Zimmerman was involved in the integration of the two companies, focusing on achieving cost synergies and optimizing the combined portfolio.

New Attractions and Future Plans

During Zimmerman’s leadership, Six Flags introduced new attractions, including a “tilt coaster” at Cedar Point in Ohio. Six Flags plans to expand with new attractions scheduled for 2026 and beyond.

Zimmerman’s announcement comes ahead of Six Flags’ quarterly earnings call, scheduled for August 6, 2025, at 10 a.m. Eastern Time. The call is expected to provide further insights into the company’s financial performance and strategic direction.
