Singapore - The Singapore Oceanarium will mark the 40th anniversary of the Sanrio character Hangyodon with a special event, the Hangyodon Marine Discovery. Scheduled from November 28, 2025, to January 4, 2026, this event is the first major thematic overlay at the Oceanarium since its opening. It will introduce Hangyodon to Singapore and focus on marine conservation and pollution awareness.
Event Highlights and Features
The Hangyodon Marine Discovery event will transform the Singapore Oceanarium into an interactive environment. Visitors will encounter a 5.5-meter (approximately 18 feet) tall inflatable Hangyodon at the entrance. The Spirit of Exploration zone will include various sculptures. Additionally, meet-and-greet sessions with Hangyodon and Mika will be held at specific times during the week.
Educational Programs and Activities
The event features the Animal Spotlight: Corals programme, offering a behind-the-scenes tour led by marine educators. Participants will learn about coral care and propagation techniques. This programme requires an additional fee, and advance booking is recommended due to limited slots.
Merchandise and Ticketing
Exclusive merchandise, including a Hangyodon-themed lanyard and tour credential, will be available for purchase. Regular admission tickets to the Singapore Oceanarium will cover access to all Hangyodon Marine Discovery installations without additional charges. Given the limited availability of some activities, such as the Animal Spotlight: Corals programme, advance ticket purchase is advisable.
