Simtec Systems and The VOID have announced a partnership to develop a “Hyper-Reality Dark Ride,” which will combine motion-based vehicle technology with multisensory experiences. The collaboration involves integrating virtual reality with physical motion within the theme park industry.
Technological Integration and Design
The “Hyper-Reality Dark Ride” will utilize Simtec Systems’ motion-based vehicles, equipped with headsets that synchronize real-time motion effects with content from The VOID’s platform. This system allows for a combination of physical movement and virtual environments.
The ride vehicles are track-based, providing a continuous motion experience. They are designed to accommodate high capacity, addressing space utilization and guest throughput. A feature of the vehicles is their ability to support interchangeable content packages, streamed to the headsets, offering customizable ride experiences.
Interactive Features
Guests will engage in a multi-layered experience that begins with an augmented reality pre-show, during which participants wear headsets to prepare for the attraction. Once aboard the motion-based vehicles, guests enter an interactive environment where they can target and collect virtual objects.
