Sandbox VR is scheduled to open its latest location in Willingen, located in the Sauerland region of Germany, this coming weekend. This will be the eighth Sandbox VR venue in Germany. The new facility is part of the Mountain View Hotel, which is slated to officially open on August 1.
Virtual Reality Offerings
The Willingen location will feature a variety of virtual reality experiences for groups of up to six individuals. The venue uses sensors, haptic vests, and VR headsets, providing experiences that place guests in different settings, such as sci-fi adventures, pirate scenarios, and zombie encounters. These experiences are developed by Sandbox VR’s in-house game development team.
New “Stranger Things: Catalyst” Experience
With the upcoming fifth season of the series “Stranger Things,” Sandbox VR plans to introduce a new VR experience titled “Stranger Things: Catalyst” this autumn. This experience is expected to attract fans of the series interested in a virtual reality adaptation.
Audience and Additional Services
The new Sandbox VR venue in Willingen targets a broad audience, including families, friends, vacationers, and corporate clients. The facility uses the Mountain View Hotel’s seminar rooms to cater to businesses looking for team-building activities. Operated by Next Level Erlebnisse, the venue also offers training sessions, known as “Next Level Seminare,” to enhance understanding and use of VR technology.
Expansion Plans in Germany
Next Level Erlebnisse, the operator of the Willingen facility, is working on expanding the Sandbox VR network in Germany. Additional locations are expected to open later this year, increasing the availability of virtual reality experiences in the country.
