Sally Dark Rides - American manufacturer Sally Dark Rides has introduced the “Mini Dark Ride,” a new attraction designed for zoos and aquariums. This compact ride provides a weather-independent option for visitors throughout the year.
Compact Design and Features
The “Mini Dark Ride” is designed to fit within spaces ranging from 185 to 280 square meters (approximately 2,000 to 3,000 square feet). It incorporates traditional dark ride elements, including storytelling, interactive features, and advanced technology. The ride includes rotating platforms, surround projections, blacklight paintings, and projection mapping, which create a dynamic experience across multiple scenes.
Technical Specifications and Capacity
The ride system features driverless transport vehicles that can accommodate 5 to 6 passengers each. High-resolution interactive media, optionally in 3D, enhances the experience, along with animatronics, themed scenery with effects like wind, scent, and light, and an integrated sound system. The “Mini Dark Ride” can accommodate up to 200 guests per hour.
Cost and Installation Benefits
The “Mini Dark Ride” involves an investment of 3.7 to 4.6 million euros (4 to 5 million USD). It offers savings in construction and operational expenses due to its smaller space requirements. The ride is designed for installation in existing or unused spaces, potentially reducing development and installation times.
Versatility and Engagement
The ride’s media packages and scenery can be interchanged, allowing for content updates. This adaptability supports themes such as animal encounters or environmental education.
