United Kingdom - Blackpool’s Pleasure Beach Resort has announced a collaboration with Sent Into Space, a company specializing in high-altitude balloon flights, to become the first theme park to broadcast messages from space. This project aligns with the reimagining of the resort’s space-themed ride, Launch Pad.
Partnership with Sent Into Space
The resort has partnered with Sent Into Space, utilizing their expertise in space-bound projects. Sent Into Space is recognized for sending objects and messages to the edge of space using high-altitude balloons. The collaboration involves launching a specially designed screen to display messages submitted by the public, offering a platform for participants to have their messages seen from space.
Public Participation and Message Submission
The public can submit 20-second video or written messages through the Pleasure Beach Resort’s website. The submission period is open until August 8. Additionally, visitors can record messages in person at the park on August 11. This dual approach allows for both remote and on-site participation in the project.
Celebration of the Launch Pad Ride
This initiative is associated with the celebration of the newly reimagined Launch Pad ride at Pleasure Beach Resort. The space-themed attraction is a central element of this space message project, which represents a unique event in the theme park industry, combining technology with public engagement.
