Parco Natura Viva Introduces “Extinction Lumina” in Jurassic Adventure Zone

Italy - Parco Natura Viva has introduced “Extinction Lumina,” a new evening attraction located in its Jurassic Adventure area. This experience is available every weekend until September 7 and daily during the peak weeks of August, beginning at 9:00 PM. Access is included in the general admission ticket. The event provides visitors with an educational journey through prehistoric times, featuring scientifically accurate representations of dinosaurs.

Prehistoric Dinosaur Models

The attraction features five key dinosaur models: Tyrannosaurus rex, Parasaurolophus, Daspletosaurus, Triceratops, and Dracorex. These models are part of a larger collection of 35 prehistoric figures and have been crafted under the supervision of Italian paleontologists Cristiano Dal Sasso and Simone Maganuco. Each dinosaur is presented to reflect current scientific understanding of its characteristics and behaviors.

The Tyrannosaurus rex models illustrate the evolution of scientific interpretations. The Parasaurolophus is highlighted with lighting that emphasizes its tubular crest, a feature associated with communication. The Daspletosaurus is depicted in a hunting stance with lighting to enhance its portrayal as a predator. The Triceratops is positioned to suggest its social complexity, and the Dracorex hogwartsia is presented in a way that adds a mythic element to the scene.

Educational Activities

“Extinction Lumina” includes educational and interactive activities suitable for families. Visitors can participate in simulated fossil digs, providing hands-on learning about paleontology, and join adventure tours designed to increase understanding of prehistoric life and evolution. These activities educate attendees about evolution, extinction, and challenges facing current biodiversity.
