Parc Astérix to Introduce New Egyptian-Themed Area by 2026

France - Parc Astérix is planning to renovate the Place 1900 area, which will be transformed into an Egyptian-themed zone by 2026. This project includes updates to existing attractions and dining facilities, focusing on ancient Egyptian motifs.

Transformation Details

Parc Astérix announced that two current attractions in the Place 1900 area will be re-themed to align with the new Egyptian motif. These attractions will incorporate new storylines, replacing previous elements such as the fictional oxygen purification machine designed by the character Ferdinand de Teffélé. The new narrative will focus on aspects of the Nile River.

Dining Experience Overhaul

The restaurant “Les Comptoirs d’Épidemaïs” will undergo a redesign, featuring the Phoenician merchant character from the Astérix comics. The restaurant will be decorated with artifacts associated with this character to align with the Egyptian theme.

Thematic Integration

The entryway to the Londinium zone will be redesigned to facilitate a transition between the Egyptian area and the existing Londinium zone.

Timeline and Future Plans

Enhancements to the Egypt zone began in 2024, with a new restaurant opening in 2025 marking the boundary between the Egypt and Gaul areas. The full transformation of the Place 1900 area is expected to be completed by 2026. Additional expansions and thematic developments are planned for other areas within Parc Astérix, though specific details are not yet available.
