Florida - Universal Studios Florida has commenced construction on a new, unnamed attraction following the demolition of the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster. The demolition started in mid-August 2025, concluding the coaster’s operations on August 17, 2025, and completed by late October 2025. The new construction project is underway with observable changes at the site.
Construction Progress with Roller Coaster Footers
The new attraction is being developed in the area between the Hard Rock Café and the entrance to Universal Studios Florida. Aerial photographs show concrete has been poured for the foundation, and roller coaster footers are being installed, indicating the potential construction of a new roller coaster. However, Universal Studios has not officially confirmed the type of attraction being developed.
Modifications to Surrounding Areas
The construction entails significant adjustments to surrounding areas, including sections of CityWalk. Construction crews have expanded the work area by removing fences initially set up for Halloween Horror Nights, facilitating the laying of pipes and forming new concrete foundations. The anticipated location for the station and servicing buildings of the new ride is toward the back of the park.
Changes to Park’s Skyline
The demolition of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit has modified the park’s skyline. The removal of the coaster’s silhouette makes way for the new development, which represents a significant change for Universal Studios Florida. As construction progresses, more information about the new attraction is expected.
