Movieland Park to Introduce “Bugs Town” Themed Area by 2026

Italy - Movieland Park, located within the Canevaworld Resort, is developing a new themed area, “Bugs Town,” set to launch in 2026. This section of the park is being transformed into a Western-style environment with the theme of giant insects invading a mining town.

Construction Details and Inspiration

The “Bugs Town” project is reimagining a previously existing section of Movieland Park with a design inspired by the 1989 Amiga computer game “It Came from the Desert.” While a similarly titled film was released in 2017, the exact inspiration for the park’s new design, whether from the game or the film, remains unconfirmed. The concept combines a Western setting with the scenario of oversized insects disrupting a mining town.

Progress Observed During Special Event

Progress on the “Bugs Town” area was observed during the Parksmania New Generation 2025 event on November 8. The event featured the “Movieland VIP Experience,” which included a monorail ride providing attendees with a view of the construction site. This allowed participants to observe the ongoing development at Movieland Park. Photographs captured by Alberto Schiavo during the event offer additional insight into the construction process.

Anticipated Opening Timeline

The new themed area is set to open in 2026. As construction continues, further updates and details are expected to be announced, providing more information on the features and attractions that “Bugs Town” will include.
