Mattel Wonder Indoor Waterparks - Mattel, Inc., a toy manufacturing company, has announced plans to open five indoor waterparks across the United States. These parks, branded as “Mattel Wonder Indoor Waterparks,” will feature attractions based on Mattel’s brands such as Barbie and Hot Wheels. This initiative represents an expansion into themed entertainment for Mattel.
Collaboration with Industry Professionals
Mattel has teamed up with Martin Aquatic for the design of the waterparks. Martin Aquatic is known for its involvement in projects like Universal Orlando’s Volcano Bay. The waterparks will be operated by American Resort Management, a company experienced in managing water facilities including Epic Waters in Texas and Wild Rivers in California. This collaboration combines expertise in design and management for the operation of the parks.
Locations and Timelines
The first Mattel Wonder Indoor Waterpark will be located in Orlando, Florida. However, specific site details and opening dates for this and the other planned locations have not been provided. Orlando is noted for its existing theme parks and entertainment offerings.
Indoor Theme Park Developments
Beyond waterparks, Mattel is developing two indoor Mattel Adventure Park theme parks. The first is under construction in Glendale, Arizona, with an opening expected next year. Another park is planned for Bonner Springs, Kansas, with an anticipated opening by May 2031. These parks will expand Mattel’s involvement in themed entertainment.
