Majaland Brand to Disappear as Momentum Leisure Unveils New Identity

A major rebranding is coming to one of Central Europe’s fastest-growing theme park operators. Momentum Leisure has announced that all of its Majaland parks will gradually be renamed Episodia, marking the beginning of a new chapter as the company expands beyond its original Studio 100 roots.

The transformation reflects the company’s growing portfolio of licensed characters and its ambition to develop a broader family entertainment brand capable of supporting future parks across Central and Eastern Europe.

Why Majaland is becoming Episodia

Since opening its first park in Kownaty in 2018, Momentum Leisure has expanded rapidly with locations near Warsaw and Gdańsk. A fourth park, currently under construction in Gliwice, is scheduled to open in summer 2027.

While the Majaland name has long been associated with Maya the Bee and other Studio 100 characters, Momentum Leisure’s portfolio has expanded significantly in recent years. Visitors can now also encounter globally recognised franchises including SpongeBob SquarePants, PAW Patrol, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Smurfs.

According to the company, the new Episodia brand better reflects this wider collection of stories, characters and immersive experiences while providing greater flexibility for future partnerships and expansion.

The name itself is derived from the concept of storytelling, with the company adopting the slogan: “Every visit is a new episode.”

Existing parks will be transformed

The first park to fully embrace the new identity will be Episodia Gliwice, which is currently under construction and will open directly under the new brand in 2027.

Momentum Leisure will then begin transforming its existing parks in Kownaty, Warsaw and Gdańsk from spring 2027 onwards. Rather than simply replacing signs and logos, the company says each destination will receive refreshed interiors, updated colour schemes, more immersive themed environments and additional attractions.

Before the full transition begins, guests will start seeing a temporary “Majaland by Episodia” branding campaign, gradually introducing the new identity while maintaining recognition of the established Majaland name.

More than a name change

Momentum Leisure describes Episodia as much more than a rebranding exercise. The company has spent around a year developing the new concept through market research, branding workshops and consumer testing in both Poland and Romania.

The new identity has been designed around values such as storytelling, adventure, family experiences and trusted entertainment. By moving away from a single intellectual property, Momentum Leisure gains greater freedom to introduce additional licensed characters and entirely new themed worlds in future developments.

This strategy also allows the parks to evolve without being tied exclusively to one franchise, creating opportunities for seasonal events, new attractions and collaborations with additional entertainment partners.

Expansion plans continue

The rebrand comes as Momentum Leisure continues one of the most ambitious expansion programmes in Central and Eastern Europe. The €50 million Episodia Gliwice project is expected to become the company’s flagship destination when it opens next summer, featuring both indoor and outdoor attractions built around the new brand from day one.

Momentum Leisure has also confirmed that it continues to pursue plans for a future theme park near Bucharest, Romania, signalling that Episodia is intended to become the umbrella brand for all of the company’s future developments.

Although the Majaland name will gradually disappear over the coming years, familiar characters such as Maya the Bee will remain part of the parks alongside newer franchises. For visitors, the company says the goal is not to replace what already exists, but to create a larger universe where multiple stories and worlds can coexist under a single brand.
