Madame Tussauds has unveiled 13 new Taylor Swift wax figures, marking the largest simultaneous launch in the company’s 250-year history. This collection focuses on the artist’s career and her “The Eras Tour.” The figures will be displayed in 13 cities across four continents, each featuring a distinct look from the tour.
Craftsmanship and Design Specifics
Creating these wax figures involved over 40 artists and took 14 months to complete. Each figure is a representation of Taylor Swift’s diverse artistic presence, with city-specific figures dressed in costumes symbolizing different eras from her tour. For example, the figure in Hong Kong is dressed in a “folklore” era outfit. These costumes were crafted by renowned fashion houses, highlighting the attention to detail and authenticity that Madame Tussauds maintains.
Custom Features and Enhancements
The Taylor Swift wax figures incorporate custom elements that enhance their authenticity. A notable feature is a microphone created by Rebel Stage Gear UK, which adds a unique aspect to the figures, enhancing the visitor experience. This customization is a testament to Madame Tussauds’ commitment to offering a lifelike encounter for its audience.
Legacy of Iconic Installations
This unveiling follows previous projects by Madame Tussauds, including the release of seven Harry Styles figures earlier in 2023 and eight Lady Gaga figures in 2011. These projects highlight the brand’s tradition of celebrating prominent figures in entertainment and culture. The Taylor Swift collection continues this tradition and expands it, encapsulating the essence of a contemporary icon.
The new figures will appear in Amsterdam, Berlin, Blackpool, Budapest, Hollywood, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, London, Nashville, New York, Orlando and Sydney, with a touring figure kicking off its residency in Shanghai.
