Singapore - A light installation titled SPARK, created by Dutch artist Daan Roosegaarde, is scheduled to debut in Southeast Asia at Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay. The event will occur from July 31 to August 3, 2025, at the Supertree Grove Lawn, presenting a sustainable reinterpretation of traditional fireworks, drawing inspiration from stars and fireflies.
Event Details and Organization
SPARK will be a part of the SG60 celebrations, marking Singapore’s 60th year of independence and 60 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and the Netherlands. The event is organized by Gardens by the Bay and IMBA, with support from the Dutch Embassy in Singapore, Tote Board, and GIC.
Installation Features and Schedule
The installation will include ephemeral light sparks designed to create a visual display against the backdrop of the Supertrees and Marina Bay Sands. The event will feature free shows lasting two hours each over the four-day period. In the event of adverse weather, shows may be canceled or postponed.
Impact on Other Attractions
During the SPARK installation, other events at the Supertree Grove, such as the Garden Rhapsody, will be suspended to accommodate the light installation. This arrangement is intended to prevent overlapping activities.
