Germany - Merlin Entertainments and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences have revealed a strategic partnership that will bring the world of Harry Potter into LEGO form at LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort.
The collaboration, the first of its kind, will create the world’s first LEGO Harry Potter land as well as the first-ever Harry Potter–themed guest accommodation at any LEGOLAND resort. The development marks the largest single investment Merlin has ever made into an existing theme park and represents a major expansion of LEGOLAND Deutschland’s long-term ambitions.
A Magical Partnership on an Unprecedented Scale
The new partnership unites three giants of entertainment: Merlin Entertainments, Warner Bros. Discovery and the LEGO Group. For decades, each brand has shaped childhood memories through immersive storytelling, imaginative play and themed worlds. Now, the companies are combining their strengths to introduce a destination where the wizarding world meets LEGO bricks in a physical theme park environment for the very first time.
According to Merlin Entertainments CEO Fiona Eastwood, the project exemplifies the company’s core philosophy of transforming iconic brands into unforgettable in-person experiences. She emphasizes that the combination of LEGO play and the Harry Potter universe will allow LEGOLAND creative teams to push the boundaries of innovation, storytelling and interactivity. Eastwood notes that choosing LEGOLAND Deutschland as the launch site reflects Merlin’s strategy to focus its largest investments on resorts with the highest growth potential.
Bringing the Wizarding World to Life in LEGO Form
The new land at LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort will allow guests to step into the Harry Potter universe through the instantly recognizable visual language of LEGO design. From the towering silhouette of Hogwarts to the cobblestone charm of the wizarding world’s most beloved locations, the land will interpret iconic settings with the playful brick-built aesthetic that fans have been constructing at home for decades.
Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences EVP Peter van Roden explains that the project offers a new way for millions of fans to engage with the world of Harry Potter. Visitors will be able to explore spaces rooted in the franchise’s iconic stories while simultaneously experiencing the creativity and whimsy of LEGO bricks on a scale never seen before. This fusion aims to create a destination that appeals to families, collectors, longtime Potter fans and LEGO enthusiasts alike.
First-Ever Harry Potter Themed Accommodation at a LEGOLAND Resort
Alongside the creation of the new land, LEGOLAND Deutschland will also introduce the first Harry Potter–themed accommodation in the LEGOLAND portfolio. Designed as a fully immersive overnight experience, the lodging will extend the worldbuilding of the land beyond the park gates and into the guest stay. While specific details have not yet been revealed, the accommodation is expected to combine beloved elements of the wizarding world with LEGO-inspired storytelling, offering a multilayered experience that begins at check-in and continues throughout the stay.
Strategic Importance for LEGOLAND Deutschland
The arrival of LEGO Harry Potter represents a turning point for LEGOLAND Deutschland, which in recent years has grown into one of the most visited family theme parks in Europe. By securing a globally recognized franchise with a passionate fanbase, the resort positions itself for a significant surge in international attention and tourism. The investment aligns with Merlin’s broader vision to evolve LEGOLAND parks into full-scale destinations rather than single-day attractions.
From a regional tourism perspective, the expansion is expected to elevate the park’s profile across Germany, Austria, Switzerland and beyond. The combination of themed land and themed accommodation strengthens LEGOLAND Deutschland’s appeal as a multi-day resort, further supporting its long-term development goals.
