Karls Erlebnis-Dorf Oberhausen Ready to Open as July 22 Launch Nears

After a short delay, Karls Erlebnis-Dorf Oberhausen appears to be almost ready to welcome its first guests. New images released by the park show that the large-scale themed destination has reached an advanced stage of completion ahead of its rescheduled opening on July 22, 2026.

Construction has progressed rapidly in recent weeks, with buildings, landscaping and many of the park’s attractions now looking complete. The latest photos reveal the distinctive Karls architecture, themed streets and outdoor areas that will form the heart of the new destination.

Opening Delayed by One Week

Karls Erlebnis-Dorf was originally scheduled to open on July 15. However, the company postponed the debut by one week after an extended period of exceptionally hot weather affected the final stages of construction. The additional time has allowed contractors to complete finishing work and prepare the park for visitors.

With the new opening date now approaching, the latest construction update suggests the project is on track to welcome its first guests on July 22.

A New Leisure Destination for the Ruhr Region

The Oberhausen location is the latest addition to the growing Karls Erlebnis-Dorf portfolio. Like the company’s other parks across Germany, it combines themed attractions, playgrounds, restaurants, shops and interactive experiences inspired by farming and rural traditions.

The park has been developed as a year-round family destination rather than a traditional amusement park, with a strong focus on themed environments, seasonal events and locally produced food.

Final Preparations Underway

Although some finishing touches are still being completed, the overall site now appears largely finished. Landscaping has matured, decorative elements have been installed throughout the park and the themed buildings are ready for operation.

If no unexpected issues arise during the final inspections and testing, Karls Erlebnis-Dorf Oberhausen is expected to officially open its gates on July 22, marking the company’s first location in Germany’s Ruhr region and another major milestone in its ongoing expansion.
