Hong Kong - Hong Kong Disneyland Resort has introduced its largest parade to date, “Friendtastic!”, as part of its 20th-anniversary celebrations. The new daytime parade features a lineup of floats, performers, and Disney characters.
A Parade of Notable Scale
“Friendtastic!” features 11 intricately designed floats and over 100 performers. The parade includes more than 30 Disney characters. Among the features is the Casa Madrigal float from Disney’s “Encanto,” which includes moving components such as windows, floors, and roof tiles.
New Additions and Characters
The parade introduces Duffy and Friends with a dedicated float, accompanied by a new song. This addition presents a range of Disney stories and characters.
Incorporation of Local Culture
The parade includes elements that reflect Hong Kong’s culture, such as references to the Bauhinia flower and local landmarks like Lion Rock. It also incorporates signage inspired by Kowloon and the local beverage, bubble tea.
Anniversary Festivities
As part of the year-long celebration, Hong Kong Disneyland is hosting several new attractions alongside the “Friendtastic!” parade. These include a new castle stage show and a nighttime spectacular. Mickey Mouse returns to live drumming as part of the festivities.
