Florida - Universal Studios Florida has announced that the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster will permanently close on August 18, 2025. This closure will make way for a new attraction, known internally as “Project 830,” and will involve significant updates to the park’s infrastructure and layout.
Plans for the New Attraction
The upcoming project at Universal Studios Florida involves roller coaster manufacturer Intamin. While official details are pending, there is speculation that the new attraction could resemble the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift coaster currently under construction at Universal Studios Hollywood. This speculation is based on the involvement of Intamin, a well-known entity in roller coaster design and construction.
Structural and Layout Changes
The new ride will result in substantial changes to the park’s layout. The project includes relocating an existing backstage facility, known as Building 29. In its place, two new structures are planned: Building 51 and Building 51A. Building 51 is expected to serve as the ride station. This structure is projected to be three stories tall and will include guest areas. Building 51A will be used for maintenance operations.
