Heide Park Resort has announced a change in leadership as longtime Managing Director Peter Dunn retires after more than two decades with the German theme park.
His successor, Jenny Blask, officially took over the role on 20 July 2026 after a symbolic handover earlier this month, when Dunn presented her with the resort’s ceremonial master key.
Familiar Face Takes the Helm
Jenny Blask is no stranger to either Heide Park Resort or Merlin Entertainments. She brings more than 20 years of experience within Merlin and has already spent four years in a senior leadership role at Heide Park, giving her extensive knowledge of the resort’s operations, guests and long-term development.
Before returning to Heide Park as Managing Director, Blask served as Regional General Manager, overseeing several SEA LIFE attractions across Europe.
End of an Era for Peter Dunn
Peter Dunn has played a significant role in Heide Park Resort’s recent history. After more than 20 years with the resort, including the past four years as Managing Director, he is now retiring.
During his tenure, he oversaw not only Germany’s largest theme park by area but also the adjacent Abenteuerhotel and Holiday Camp, helping guide the resort through challenging years for the leisure industry as well as the post-pandemic recovery.
Looking Ahead
The leadership change comes during an important period for Heide Park Resort. The park continues to promote short-break holidays alongside its attractions and has focused heavily on accommodation packages, seasonal events and value offers in recent years.
While no major new attraction has yet been announced under the new leadership, many enthusiasts will be watching closely to see what direction Jenny Blask takes as the resort looks to strengthen its position within Merlin Entertainments’ European portfolio.
