Freizeit-Land Geiselwind opens Ravenmoor Academy dark ride

Visitors to Freizeit-Land Geiselwind can now experience Ravenmoor Academy, a new indoor dark ride that officially opened on July 1. The attraction forms the centrepiece of Raven Woods, a newly developed themed area at the German amusement park.

Ravenmoor Academy is housed inside a castle-like building near the park entrance. Guests travel through the attraction alongside a character named Mora, passing a series of themed scenes enhanced by special effects, a custom soundtrack and detailed theming. The project was developed in collaboration with German company aufwind, which supplied the attraction’s full-motion ride system and was also responsible for the theming, soundtrack and special effects.

Part of wider expansion

The opening of Ravenmoor Academy is part of a broader expansion programme at Freizeit-Land Geiselwind. Alongside the new dark ride, the park has introduced a café overlooking the attraction and a redesigned castle park area. The main entrance has also been rebuilt as part of the project.

Several other additions have either opened or are expected to open this season. These include the children’s attraction Fruchtdino Wirbelspaß and the indoor play area Tukis Dinofarm, which covers more than 1,000 square metres. The roller coaster Wilde Hilde, previously operated at Schwaben Park, is also scheduled to open.

More projects planned

Ravenmoor Academy was first announced in late 2025 as one of several new attractions planned for the 2026 season. At the time, the park revealed that the ride would form the heart of a new themed area centred around a mysterious academy.

Further expansion is already planned. Later this year, Freizeit-Land Geiselwind intends to open Das Geheimnis des Drachentempels, a new full-motion boat ride that will also use ride technology supplied by aufwind.
