United Kingdom - Flamingo Land, a theme park in the United Kingdom, has closed two roller coasters designed for younger visitors. These closures are among several changes affecting the park’s lineup of attractions for children.
Details of Recent Ride Closures
The first roller coaster to close was the Go Gator, a powered coaster installed in 1990. This ride was supplied by A.R.M., a British company that manufactures amusement rides. The Go Gator had been in operation for over three decades.
The second ride affected is the Dino Roller. This coaster, a Nessi-type model, was constructed by Cavazza Diego. It initially operated as the Dragon Coaster from its opening in 1988 until 2012, when it was rebranded as Dino Roller. Like the Go Gator, the Dino Roller was designed to cater to children, providing a milder roller coaster experience.
Previous Closures of Children’s Attractions
The shutdown of the Go Gator and Dino Roller follows the closure of two other children’s attractions last year. Among them was the junior Tea Cups ride, which had been part of Flamingo Land since 1991. This ride was supplied by S&W Amusement Sales.
These closures have reduced the number of rides available for children at Flamingo Land, although the park continues to offer various attractions for visitors of all ages.
