Germany - Filmpark Babelsberg in Potsdam plans to open a winter-themed ice skating arena inside the Metropolis Halle. The facility is scheduled to begin operations on December 6 and will remain available to visitors until mid-February 2026. This seasonal attraction is anticipated to attract skating participants from the surrounding region.

Details of the Ice Arena

The indoor rink at Metropolis Halle will cover approximately 650 square meters (6,997 square feet), providing space suitable for skaters of various ages and skill levels. The facility will accommodate school groups, casual skaters, and families, with a structured schedule designed to ensure accessibility.

On weekdays, the rink will be reserved for school groups and classes starting at 10:00 AM, with public skating sessions beginning at 12:30 PM. On weekends and holidays, the facility will extend its hours to accommodate a higher number of visitors, providing families and casual skaters with more opportunities to use the ice.

Additional Services and Amenities

Skating sessions will last two hours, after which the ice will be resurfaced. The facility will offer beginner aids for novice skaters and skate sharpening services for those bringing their own equipment.

Options will be available to host birthdays, class trips, or other exclusive events at the ice arena, allowing visitors to celebrate occasions in a distinctive setting.

Admission Information

Admission to the ice rink is set at €10 for adults and €7 for children and discounted groups. These rates include access to the skating sessions and the amenities provided at the facility.
