Europa-Park Resort has added another remarkable achievement to its growing list of accolades, with two of its signature restaurants earning recognition in the Michelin Guide Germany. Immersive dining concept Eatrenalin has received its first Michelin Star, while Ammolite – The Lighthouse Restaurant has successfully retained its two Michelin Stars for the twelfth consecutive year. The recognition further cements the German resort’s reputation as one of the world’s leading destinations not only for attractions, but also for exceptional gastronomy.
Eatrenalin joins Germany’s Michelin elite
When Eatrenalin opened in late 2022, it immediately stood apart from traditional fine dining. Rather than simply serving an elaborate tasting menu, the attraction combines haute cuisine with cutting-edge technology to create a fully immersive journey.
Guests are seated in patented “Floating Chairs” that transport them through a series of themed environments. Throughout the two-hour experience, an eight-course menu is paired with changing scenery, projection mapping, music, scents, lighting effects and motion, creating a multisensory experience unlike a conventional restaurant.
Developed by Europa-Park managing partner Thomas Mack and the late gastronomy innovator Oliver Altherr, Eatrenalin has continually refined both its culinary offering and technological presentation. The Michelin Guide has now recognised those efforts by awarding the restaurant its first Michelin Star, confirming that the ambitious concept delivers not only spectacular presentation but also cuisine of exceptional quality.
Ammolite continues an extraordinary run
While Eatrenalin celebrated a first-time achievement, Ammolite once again demonstrated its remarkable consistency.
Located within the four-star superior Bell Rock Hotel, the restaurant has now retained two Michelin Stars every year since first receiving the distinction in 2014. Led by chef Peter Hagen-Wiest, Ammolite has become one of Germany’s most respected fine dining restaurants and remains one of the very few two-star Michelin establishments located within a theme park resort anywhere in the world.
Maintaining two Michelin Stars over more than a decade is considered an exceptional accomplishment in the culinary industry, where standards are continually reassessed each year.
A growing trend beyond traditional theme parks
The latest recognition reflects a broader evolution within Europe’s leading theme park resorts. While exceptional dining was once considered a secondary offering, many destinations are increasingly investing in restaurants capable of attracting guests independently of their rides and attractions.
Europa-Park has been at the forefront of that movement for years. Alongside its expanding collection of themed hotels, the resort has steadily built a culinary portfolio that ranges from casual family restaurants to award-winning gourmet experiences. Eatrenalin represents the most ambitious expression of that strategy, blurring the line between a fine dining restaurant and an attraction.
Few theme parks can match Europa-Park’s culinary reputation
Michelin-starred restaurants remain exceptionally rare within the global theme park industry. Although several Disney and Universal resorts are home to highly acclaimed restaurants, very few have earned Michelin recognition, and even fewer operate multiple Michelin-starred venues within the same destination.
With Eatrenalin now joining Ammolite, Europa-Park Resort boasts a total of three Michelin Stars across two restaurants. The achievement places the German resort in an exclusive category where world-class attractions, luxury accommodation and internationally recognised gastronomy exist side by side.
As competition between major theme park resorts continues to grow, Europa-Park’s latest Michelin success demonstrates that the guest experience increasingly extends far beyond the rides.
