Europa-Park Opens Wild West Chapel in Silver Lake City

Europa-Park has inaugurated a new chapel in the heart of Silver Lake City, adding an unexpectedly peaceful venue to the resort’s rapidly expanding Wild West accommodation district.

The Chapel San Antonio was formally blessed on June 27 and has now opened to visitors. Surrounded by wooden frontier buildings, covered wagons and Western-style businesses, the small chapel has been designed to resemble a place of worship that could have stood in a historic American settlement.

Inside, wooden seating, religious statues, a crucifix and rustic decorative details create a noticeably quieter atmosphere than the surrounding entertainment and accommodation areas.

Chapel Can Host Weddings and Christenings

Although the building strengthens the theming of Silver Lake City, it is more than a decorative façade. Europa-Park describes the chapel as a place where visitors can pause, reflect and escape the activity of the resort for a few moments.

Chapel San Antonio can also be used for weddings, christenings, anniversaries and other personal ceremonies. It joins several religious and ceremonial venues elsewhere at the Europa-Park Resort, including the Norwegian Stave Church and St James’ Chapel.

Its central location means the chapel also acts as a visual landmark within Silver Lake City, with its small bell tower rising above the surrounding Western streets.

Part of Silver Lake City’s Major Expansion

The opening follows the transformation of Europa-Park’s former Camp Resort into the more extensive Silver Lake City. What began as a campsite in 1998 has gradually developed into a themed resort with tipi tents, covered wagons, log cabins, Western houses, restaurants and recreational activities.

The biggest addition opened in June 2026 with the Riverside Western Lodge. The new accommodation building contains 119 rooms and increases Silver Lake City’s total capacity to 532 beds.

Other additions include the Silver Lake Brewery, the Wild Horse Bar, a Wild West Store, a new YULLBE GO virtual-reality venue and several food outlets. Guests can also find mini golf, an adventure playground and other leisure activities across the resort.

Chapel San Antonio adds a different type of experience to that line-up. Rather than offering another attraction or restaurant, it provides a functioning ceremonial space intended to reinforce the impression of Silver Lake City as a complete frontier settlement rather than simply a themed hotel complex.
