Europa-Park Introduces In-House Animatronic to “Ed & Edda Grand Prix Edventure”

Germany - Europa-Park has announced an update to its “Ed & Edda Grand Prix Edventure” ride, featuring the park’s first in-house animatronic, developed by Mack Rides. This addition incorporates new technological elements into the attraction.

Ed Euromaus Animatronic Debut

The “Ed & Edda Grand Prix Edventure” ride, operational since March, now includes an animatronic of Ed Euromaus. Previously presented as a digital animation, the character now appears as an animatronic at the beginning of the ride, providing an interactive element to the experience.

Enhancement of Edda Euromausi’s Role

Alongside the Ed Euromaus animatronic, Europa-Park has increased Edda Euromausi’s presence in the ride. While Edda continues to appear as an animation, additional animatronics have been introduced in the queue area and the ride’s final scene.

Developments by Mack Rides

The development of in-house animatronics marks a significant point for Mack Rides, the creators of Europa-Park’s attractions. According to Michael Mack, director of Europa-Park, this innovation suggests potential for further self-developed figures and effects. The animatronics are incorporated into the “Gameplay Theater” concept of the ride, which combines movement with game elements and detailed scenes.

Connection with Other Media

The “Ed & Edda Grand Prix Edventure” ride is part of a larger narrative that includes the film “Grand Prix of Europe” and the video game “Ed & Edda Grand Prix Racing Champions.” The animatronic Ed Euromaus enhances the ride’s introductory scene, contributing to Europa-Park’s multimedia approach.
