Ahead of the official opening of the Efteling Grand Hotel, Efteling theme park has partnered with publisher Ploegsma to release a new fairy tale book titled “Sprookjes uit het Efteling Grand Hotel.” The book, inspired by the forthcoming luxury accommodation at the park’s entrance, presents a collection of nine stories set in and around the hotel.
Collaboration Brings New Tales to Life
The book is a collaborative effort between authors Ad Grooten and Maarten Kuipers, with illustrations by Job van Gelder and Céline Meeuwis. The narrative focuses on a mysterious stranger with a clock who visits a simple inn, which transforms into a remarkable hotel known for its magical occurrences. This includes stories about trolls residing in the attic and a chef in search of magical ingredients. The book also features the experiences of trainee bellhops navigating their environment.
Availability and Previous Works
“Sprookjes uit het Efteling Grand Hotel” is available for purchase in Efteling’s souvenir shops, including the new Arcadeau store. This release continues a series of fairy tale collections produced by Efteling in collaboration with Ploegsma. Previous collections include “Het Sprookjesboek van de Efteling,” “Meer sprookjes van de Efteling,” and “Ze leven nog lang en gelukkig.”
Hotel Opening Timeline
The Efteling Grand Hotel is scheduled to open on August 1, 2025. This new luxury accommodation will be located at the entrance of the Efteling theme park.
