The Efteling theme park in the Netherlands has officially opened its largest on-site accommodation, the Efteling Grand Hotel. The construction project began in late 2022 and this is the first time guests can stay within the park’s boundaries.
Construction and Development Details
The construction of the Efteling Grand Hotel experienced delays due to the bankruptcy of one of its suppliers. Despite these setbacks, progress continued with the installation of prefabricated façade elements in early 2024. The hotel is located near the main entrance of the theme park, within the newly developed “Eiland van de Vijf Zintuigen” area, which serves as a green space connecting the park’s entrance with the hotel.
Opening Ceremony and Ribbon Record
The opening ceremony of the Efteling Grand Hotel featured a Guinness World Record for the largest ribbon bow. The ribbon measured 16.74 meters (54.92 feet) in width and 17.15 meters (56.30 feet) in height, displayed on the hotel façade. Efteling’s General Director, Fons Jurgens, attended the ceremony to acknowledge the significance of this addition to the park’s accommodation options.
Amenities and Features
The Efteling Grand Hotel offers a variety of amenities, including dining options, a swimming pool, and shopping venues. A video walkthrough has been released, showcasing the hotel’s interior, including its rooms, dining, and shopping areas.
