Construction of Dragon Run has reached an important milestone at Oasis Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, with the new family roller coaster now completing its full track circuit. The attraction remains on schedule to welcome its first riders in spring 2027 as part of the resort’s growing entertainment offering.
The resort announced the achievement through social media, celebrating the completion of the coaster’s layout while confirming that work will now continue on mechanical installation, testing and theming ahead of next year’s debut.
Major milestone for the new family coaster
Completing the track circuit marks one of the most significant phases in any roller coaster construction project. With every piece of track now installed, construction crews can begin installing the ride systems, electrical components and trains before extensive testing starts in the months leading up to opening.
Recent construction photos show the coaster’s bright yellow track winding through black supports, giving visitors a clear impression of the compact layout that will deliver family-friendly thrills rather than extreme intensity.
Part of Oasis’ transformation
Dragon Run forms part of the wider redevelopment of Oasis Lake of the Ozarks in Osage Beach, Missouri. The resort, best known for its lakeside location and waterpark, is expanding its attractions with dry rides in an effort to become a more complete family destination.
The addition of a roller coaster represents a significant step in that strategy, bringing a new type of attraction to the property for the first time.
Although technical specifications have not yet been fully released, Dragon Run is designed as a family coaster, making it accessible to a broad audience while adding a signature attraction to the expanding resort.
Opening planned for spring 2027
With track installation now complete, attention will shift to the remaining stages of construction, including station completion, landscaping, theming and ride commissioning. If construction continues according to schedule, Dragon Run is expected to open during spring 2027.
The milestone brings the project another step closer to reality and provides the clearest sign yet that Oasis Lake of the Ozarks is on course to introduce its first roller coaster next year.
