Guests staying at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will now enjoy a more streamlined arrival and departure experience following the opening of the resort’s newly constructed bus loop.
The new transportation hub has officially entered service after months of construction, replacing the temporary arrangements that had been in place while Disney carried out major redevelopment work around the resort.
The project is one of the latest improvements as Disney continues to modernise one of its most iconic hotels.
Larger, More Efficient Transportation Area
The redesigned bus loop features expanded loading areas and improved traffic flow for both guests and Disney transportation.
The new layout is intended to reduce congestion during busy periods while making it easier for buses to arrive and depart throughout the day. Wider pedestrian pathways and improved access between the bus stops and the resort’s main facilities also aim to create a more convenient experience for guests.
The upgraded transportation area forms part of the extensive changes that have taken place at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort in recent years.
Part of a Wider Resort Transformation
The opening of the new bus loop follows several major additions at the resort, including the Island Tower at Disney Vacation Club, new dining experiences and updated guest facilities.
Disney has invested heavily in expanding the Polynesian while preserving the tropical South Pacific-inspired atmosphere that has made the resort one of Walt Disney World’s most popular deluxe hotels since it opened alongside the Magic Kingdom in 1971.
The new transportation hub complements those investments by improving one of the resort’s busiest operational areas.
Improving the Guest Experience
Although transportation upgrades rarely attract the same attention as new attractions or hotels, they can have a significant impact on the overall guest experience.
For thousands of visitors who rely on Disney buses to travel between the resort and the theme parks each day, the improved layout is expected to make boarding more efficient and reduce crowding during peak travel times.
With the project now complete, guests visiting Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort can begin using the new bus loop immediately, marking another step in Disney’s ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure across Walt Disney World.
