Florida - Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World is scheduled to introduce a new “Encanto” themed attraction in 2027 as part of the Tropical Americas development. This new area is set to replace DinoLand, U.S.A., specifically the site previously occupied by Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama!
Project Announcement and Details
On August 10, 2024, during the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Disney announced the forthcoming “Encanto” ride. The ride will focus on a significant scene from the movie where Antonio Madrigal gains his ability to communicate with animals. While construction is in progress, specific details about the ride type remain unconfirmed. Concept art presented during the announcement indicates the possibility of a boat design for the ride.
Additional Attractions in Tropical Americas
The Tropical Americas project at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will also include an “Indiana Jones” ride and a carousel. These additions are part of efforts to redevelop the area previously occupied by DinoLand, U.S.A.
Exhibition and Construction Status
A scale model of the entire Tropical Americas project is on display at Walt Disney Presents in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, offering visitors a preview of future developments. Although the project is in progress, Disney has not released specific information about the construction timeline or the expected completion dates for the attractions within Tropical Americas.
