Disneyland Paris Discontinues Virtual Queue for Starport: A Star Wars Encounter

France - Disneyland Paris has removed the Virtual Queue system from the Starport: A Star Wars Encounter attraction, returning to a traditional standby queue for guests wishing to meet Darth Vader. This change follows the expansion of the Virtual Queue system in 2025, which included more character meet-and-greet locations across the park.

Transition to Traditional Standby Queue

The Virtual Queue feature, introduced in 2022, allowed guests to register through an app to secure a spot in line for various attractions and character meetings. By 2025, this system was expanded to include multiple meet-and-greet locations to manage visitor flow. However, after several months, the Virtual Queue has been deactivated for the Starport attraction, requiring guests to wait in a traditional line to meet Darth Vader.

Factors Influencing the Change

The decision to remove the Virtual Queue system for Starport is attributed to manageable crowd levels and the availability of a spacious outdoor queue area. These conditions have made it feasible to accommodate guests without virtual reservations. Unlike other meet-and-greet spots within the park, which feature various characters, Starport has primarily focused on Darth Vader, with occasional appearances by characters such as Chewbacca and Kylo Ren during special events.

Guest Information and Future Updates

Guests interested in meeting Darth Vader can now join the standby queue without prior registration. For updates on the status of Virtual Queues and their availability across other attractions in the park, guests are advised to consult the official Disneyland Paris app for the latest information.
