Charles White Park - The Walt Disney Company has announced a $5 million investment in the reconstruction of Charles White Park in Altadena, California. The park was significantly damaged in the Eaton Fire in January. Disney is collaborating with Los Angeles County on this project.
Project Details and Design
Disney’s team of Imagineers is working with local authorities on the planning and design of the new Charles White Park. The redesigned park will include several new installations and amenities. A playground inspired by Deodar Cedar pinecones will be a focal point. Plans also include a splashpad, an amphitheater, and the restoration of the park’s athletic fields.
Financial Commitment and Community Support
The $5 million for the reconstruction of Charles White Park is part of a larger $15 million commitment by Disney to support the local community. This also includes the repair of two other parks in the area. Additionally, Disney is contributing to the Altadena Christmas Tree Lane Lighting Ceremony and Winter Festival, scheduled for December 6.
Partnership and Historical Ties
The collaboration between Disney and Los Angeles County reflects the company’s ties to the Los Angeles area. Disney CEO Bob Iger has noted the importance of these connections and the company’s involvement in local community initiatives.
