Park Mirakulum is preparing to open the first wooden roller coaster in Czechia, with the new attraction scheduled to debut in 2027.
The family park in Milovice, northeast of Prague, has started construction on the large-scale project, which will become the most significant ride investment in its history. The coaster is being developed by Great Coasters International, one of the world’s best-known wooden roller coaster manufacturers.
Once complete, the ride will add a new thrill-focused element to a park that is currently best known for its extensive outdoor play areas, climbing structures and family activities.
More than one kilometre of track
The currently unnamed coaster will reach a height of 28 metres and a maximum speed of 77 kilometres per hour. Its layout will contain more than one kilometre of track, with a ride duration of over two minutes.
The attraction has been designed for a broad family audience rather than exclusively for thrill seekers. The minimum height requirement is expected to be 120 centimetres, allowing older children to experience the coaster alongside adults.
The project is being built across an area of approximately 12,800 square metres. Construction work includes extensive concrete foundations to support the wooden structure, which will gradually rise across the site ahead of the planned opening.
Landmark attraction for Czechia
Czechia currently has no modern wooden roller coaster, making the Park Mirakulum project a national first. The ride will also become the longest roller coaster in the country when it opens.
The investment represents a notable change in direction for Mirakulum. Rather than replacing its existing family focus, the park is using the coaster to broaden its appeal and encourage visitors to spend more time at the destination.
The new ride will be included with regular park admission and will not require a separate ticket.
Opening planned for 2027
Park Mirakulum has not yet announced an official name or an exact opening date. The attraction is currently expected to welcome its first riders during the spring of 2027.
Mirakulum opened in 2012 on the grounds of a former military area in Milovice. The park has since expanded into one of Czechia’s largest family leisure destinations, combining playgrounds, underground tunnels, water features and interactive outdoor attractions.
