Six Flags Over Texas - Six Flags Over Texas is progressing with the construction of its latest attraction, the Tormenta Rampaging Run. This dive coaster, designed by manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M), is under development, with advancements made on the coaster itself and its surrounding park areas.

Construction Status of Tormenta Rampaging Run

The construction of the Tormenta Rampaging Run has reached a significant point, with approximately 190 feet (58 meters) of the lift hill installed. An additional 309 feet (94 meters) of the structure is expected to be completed soon. The coaster features a funicular-style track, allowing for independent cart movement along the lift hill, which improves safety and maintenance efficiency.

The ride offers a “floorless” experience, a characteristic of B&M dive coasters, achieved by the absence of a traditional deck beneath the train. This design provides an unobstructed view of the track. The coaster’s trains, featuring eight-across seating and over-the-shoulder restraints, have been revealed by the park. Design elements include bull eyes on the front of the train.

Ongoing Park Developments

Alongside the construction of the Tormenta Rampaging Run, Six Flags Over Texas is undertaking additional projects. Land clearing is in progress around the coaster’s perimeter, with groundwork underway for improvements to the park’s parking lot. The park is also removing outdated rides to make space for new attractions. The Conquistador ride, which was retired, has been demolished to accommodate future developments.
