Bobbejaanland is preparing for one of its biggest transformations in years. The Belgian theme park is expected to permanently close two long-running Huss attractions at the end of the summer season to make way for a brand-new Nickelodeon-themed area opening in 2027.
According to information shared by the park, Flying Orca and Locomotion are both expected to operate for the final time on 31 August 2026. The attractions are currently being offered for sale, signalling the end of their time at Bobbejaanland after entertaining guests for many years.
Three New Attractions Planned
The new Nickelodeon zone will be built near the entrance of the park and is expected to feature three brand-new attractions aimed primarily at families.
Replacing Flying Orca will be a 12-metre-tall Wild Swing from German manufacturer ART Engineering. Similar attractions debuted last year at Plopsaland Belgium and Plopsa Coo Ardennes and combine a swinging motion with gentle thrills suitable for a wide audience.
New Water Ride Becomes Centrepiece
The highlight of the expansion is set to be a Zamperla Big Wave attraction.
This ride combines elements of a drop tower and a water ride. Guests are slowly lifted high into the air before plunging into a splash pool, creating a spectacular wave at the bottom. The attraction will be constructed on the current site of the park’s chair carrousel near the entrance.
The carrousel itself is not disappearing but will instead be relocated to another part of the park.
Freefall Tower Completes the Line-up
The third attraction planned for the Nickelodeon area will be a 15-metre-tall freefall tower, also manufactured by Zamperla.
Together, the three rides are expected to create a completely new family-focused entrance area, replacing some of the park’s older attractions with modern experiences based on one of the world’s most recognisable children’s entertainment brands.
Largest Investment in Years
The project marks one of Bobbejaanland’s most significant investments in recent years and reflects the park’s continued strategy of expanding its family offering.
While saying goodbye to Flying Orca and Locomotion will undoubtedly be nostalgic for many long-time visitors, the arrival of a fully themed Nickelodeon area promises to usher in a new chapter for the Belgian theme park when it opens in 2027.
