Blue Man Group to Establish New Permanent Theater at Icon Park in Orlando

The Blue Man Group plans to establish a new permanent theater at Icon Park in Orlando, marking their return to the city. The group previously performed at Universal Orlando Resort from 2007 to 2020. The upcoming venue will feature performances that include both classic acts and new material, housed within a custom-designed theater space.

Construction and Delays

Construction of the Blue Man Group’s new theater at Icon Park began in September 2024. The venue is designed to accommodate 578 guests and is located at the Universal Boulevard entrance of Icon Park, beneath The Orlando Eye. Construction experienced delays due to permitting issues, resulting in the postponement of the theater’s opening from the initially scheduled date of April 3, 2025, to later in 2025. Ticket sales have been suspended, with refunds issued to those who purchased tickets for the postponed openings.

Show Features and Operational Plans

The new show at Icon Park will feature a combination of Blue Man Group’s established performances alongside new scenes, offering audiences a mix of familiar and fresh experiences. The initiative underscores the group’s effort to provide an immersive entertainment experience specifically for Orlando. The Blue Man Group is owned by Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, which acquired the brand in 2017, ensuring the continuation of high-quality performances.

Retail and Box Office Integration

Icon Park has also opened a store, launched in September 2024, offering merchandise related to Blue Man Group and Cirque du Soleil. The store will serve as the official box office when the theater opens, facilitating ticket purchasing for upcoming shows.
