Bellewaerde has unveiled ambitious plans for a major expansion of its Canada Zone, representing a €10 million investment set to debut in spring 2026. The project will introduce new attractions, expanded facilities, and a refreshed thematic experience that strengthens the park’s family-focused identity.
New Additions and Key Features
The centrepiece of the expansion will be Wild Swing XL, a large, high-thrill swing attraction with 24 seats. Marketed as the largest swing of its kind in the world, the ride aims to offer an intense yet accessible experience suitable for a wide audience. It will become one of the most eye-catching additions to the park’s attraction line-up.
Complementing the new ride, Bellewaerde is constructing a 300-metre wooden adventure trail, designed as an immersive obstacle parcours themed around forestry, rustic structures and vintage Canadian logging elements. This walkthrough experience will invite guests to explore, climb and discover, adding an interactive layer to the area.
The existing Canadian Burger restaurant will also undergo a significant transformation. Its capacity will double to approximately 500 seats, featuring a warm, wood-dominated interior and two outdoor terraces with views of the surrounding nature. The building will be upgraded with sustainable systems, including geothermal heating and cooling, reflecting Bellewaerde’s long-term environmental commitments.
Construction Timeline
Work on the expanded Canada Zone began in 2025, with progress focused on infrastructure, groundwork and the early stages of theming. The full area is scheduled for completion and reopening in spring 2026, when all elements — including the new ride, adventure trail and upgraded dining facilities — will be revealed.
Expected Impact
The expansion is set to elevate the Canada Zone into one of Bellewaerde’s most substantial themed areas, blending thrilling attractions with family-friendly experiences. With the addition of Wild Swing XL and a sizeable exploration zone, the park aims to offer both new physical challenges and visually rich storytelling.
By increasing restaurant capacity and investing in modern infrastructure, Bellewaerde is preparing for future visitor growth while enhancing guest comfort. The project underscores the park’s strategy of expanding thematic depth and providing a diverse mix of attractions for families, teens and thrill-seekers.
Looking Ahead
Further construction updates and a confirmed opening date are expected as Bellewaerde moves closer to launching the renewed Canada Zone in 2026. With significant investment and a robust line-up of new experiences, the expansion is poised to become one of the park’s most notable developments of the decade.
