Belgium - Walibi Belgium will celebrate its 50th anniversary on Saturday, July 26, with a full day of special events, culminating in what the park describes as the largest drone show ever held in Belgium. The show will take place over the park’s central lake starting at 10:30 PM.
Nighttime Spectacle with Hundreds of Drones
The drone display is set to begin immediately after the park closes at 10:20 PM. According to Walibi, the show will be the most extensive of its kind in the country, providing a visual finale to the anniversary festivities.
Rare Theme Park Artifacts on Sale at Pop-Up Market
Throughout the day, visitors can attend a one-time flea market at the Weerwolvenplein. The event will offer rare items from the park’s history, including signage from classic attractions like Radja River, Psyké Underground, and La Coccinelle; boats and ride components from Gold River Adventure; and coaster wheels and hardware from Vampire and Kondaa. Pieces from Walibi Playland, bumper cars, and interactive props from dark rides such as Popcorn Revenge and Challenge of Tutankhamon will also be available.
All items are displayed in a temporary pop-up store across from the Wave Swinger attraction. Sales will follow a first-come, first-served basis.
Manneken Pis Makes a Special Appearance
As part of the festivities, the famous Brussels statue Manneken Pis will be dressed as Walibi starting at 12:00 PM. The statue, a national symbol of Belgium, is known for its regular costume changes during holidays and special events. This marks a unique tribute to the park’s anniversary celebration.
Extended Park Hours and Additional Surprises
On July 26, the park will operate from 10:00 AM to 10:20 PM. In addition to the drone show and flea market, Walibi has announced that further exclusive surprises will be revealed throughout the day.
